HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1990-748CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Councilmember Helliwell meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 5th day of Nuvemher 1990 The following members were present: Mayor Bergman, Counciimembers Helliwell Ricker Vasiliou. and Zitur The following members were absent: None Councilmember Helliwell introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION 90-748 SELECTION OF PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING ARCHITECT AND CONTINUED ROLE OF PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE. WHEREAS, the City Council has approved a new public safety building in the Capital Improvement Program; and, WHEREAS, the Council appointed a Public Safety Building Committee composed of Mayor Kim M. Bergman, Councilmember Bob Zitur, Councilmember Lloyd Ricker and City staff members; and, WHEREAS, a space needs study was completed by two independent architectural firms; and, WHEREAS, the firm of Polson/Troasen/Wright has been recommended to proceed with the architectural service needs for the new public safety building by the Public Safety Building Committee. NOW, THEREFORE LET IT HEREBY BE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that the City Manager is authorized to negotiate a contract with the Polson/Trossen/Wright Joint Venture to provide architectural services for the public safety building project and submit the agreement to this Council for approval. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Public Safety Building Committee remain in tact through the various phases and stages of development until the Certificate of Occupancy is approved. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zitur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Bergman. Councilmembers Helliwell. Ricker. Va ili ,. and Zitur The following voted against or abstained Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. R Extract of Minutes of Meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Hennepin County, Minnesota Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was duly held in the City Hall in said City on Monday, November 19, 1990, commencing at 7:00 P.M. The following members were present: Mayor Kim Bergman, Council Members Carole Helliwell, Lloyd Ricker and Robert Zitur and the following were absent: Council Member Maria Vasil iou • w • 0 The Mayor announced that the next order of business was consideration of the bids which had been received for the purchase of the City's $5,000,000 General Obligation Improvement Bonds of 1990, as advertised for sale. The City Clerk presented affidavits showing publication of the notice of sale in the City's official newspaper and in Northwestern Financial Review, a financial paper published in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which affidavits were examined and found satisfactory and ordered placed on file. The City Clerk presented a tabulation of the bids which had been received in the manner specified in the Official Notice of Sale of the Bonds.
