HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1990-608CITY OF PLYMOUTH IDPursuant to due call and notice thereof, a reg ar meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 24th day of September , 1990. The following members were present: mayor Bergman. Councilmembers , Helliwe_11. Ricker_ Vasiliou and 7.ifnr The following members were absent: Nnna Councilmember Zitur introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90- 608 RESOLUTION AWARDING BID BASS CREEK BUSINESS PARK STREETS AND UTILITIES CITY PROJECT NO. 008 WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of Bass Creek Business Park Streets and Utilities, and all necessary appurtenances, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: C.W. Houle, Inc. Brown & Cris IRRichard Knutson, Inc. Northdale Const. Barbarossa and Sons C.S. McCrossan Const. Latour Const. Landwehr Heavy Moving G.L. Contracting Hank Weidema Exc. Progressive Contractors $ 1,339,467.65 1,341,143.75 1,403,789.85 1,404,934.35 1,449,388.25 1,464,518.05 1,467,108.40 1,506,079.00 1,514,660.85 1,587,114.55 1,715,094.85 WHEREAS, the apparent low bidder, Northdale Construction Company, erroneously extended the unit price of $2.30 per cubic yard for the 75,000 cubic yards of common excavation and therefore Northdale Construction Company's bid has been recalculated to be $1,404,934.35; and WHEREAS, the proposal by C.W. Houle, Inc. contains a discrepancy between the words and numbers for the unit price bid on the 18 inch RCP; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that C.W. Houle's unit price bid for the 18 inch RCP is $16.75 and therefore there is no change in the total base bid submitted by C.W. Houle; and WHEREAS, the proposal by Brown & Cris, Inc. contains a discrepancy between the words and numbers for the unit price bid on the 30 inch RCP; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the unit price bid by Brown & Cris, Inc. for the 30 inch RCP is $28.00 per foot, and therefore, there is no change in the total base bid submitted by Brown & Cris; and Resolution No. 90- 608 Page Two 0 WHEREAS, the City has determined that the bid of C.W. Houle, Inc. is the low bidder; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the irregularity in the bid by C.W. Houle, Inc. on the unit price for 18 inch RCP is hereby waived. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the attached contract with C.W. Houle, Inc. of Shoreview, MN in the name of the City of Plymouth for Bass Creek Business Park Streets and Utility Improvements according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk in the amount of the low bid of $1,339,467.65. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Bergman , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Bergman, Councilmembers Helliwell.
