HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1990-390CITY OF PLYNDUTH Pursuant to due call and notice there, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, was held on the 18th day of June, 1990. The following members were present: Mayor Bergman, Councilmembers Helliwell, Ricker, Vasiliou, and Zitur. The following members were absent: None. Councilmember Ricker introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-390 PLYMOUTH COMMUNITY LIBRARY WHEREAS, Plymouth currently has a population in excess of 50,000 residents and those residents do not have a library located within their community; and WHEREAS, the County's Capital Budget contemplates the acquisition of a library site for a community library in Plymouth to be acquired in 1991 with occupancy scheduled in 1993; and WHEREAS, the Plymouth City Council strongly believes that the construction of a community library in Plymouth is long overdue; and WHEREAS, the City Council stands ready to work with the appropriate County officials to facilitate the construction of a library in Plymouth. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners be urged to accelerate the planned development of a community library in Plymouth; and FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council pledges its full cooperation and support in assisting the County in locating an appropriate site for said library and facilitating local review and approvals. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmembar Zitur, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Bergman, Councilmembers Helliwell, Ricker, Vasiliou, Zitur. The following voted against or abstained: None. Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
