HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1990-305CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the _7th day of May , 1990. The following members were present: Major Bergman. Com ilmembers Helliwell_ Ricker- Vaa 1iou, and Zitur , The following members were absent: None Coin ilm ether Zitur introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-305 AUTHORIZING EXTENSION OF THE CITY'S RECYCLING CONTRACT THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1992 WHEREAS, Waste Management, Inc., the City's recycling contractor, has proposed to begin collection of plastics at the curb beginning in June of 1990; and WHEREAS, Waste Management, Inc. has agreed to the pickup of plastics for $.30 additional per household per month, providing the City extend the current contract by an additional two years; and WHEREAS, said contract extension cost would be $.05 per household per month additional over the current price; and WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interest to implement the collection of plastics at the curb; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue the curbside collection of recyclables beyond December 31, 1990. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to enter into an agreement extending the contract for an additional two years at the rate stated above. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Ricker , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Bergman. Councilmembers Helliwell Ricker, , _Vasiliou. and Zitur The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
