HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1990-293CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 7th day of May , 192Q__ The following members were present: Mevor Berstman, Councilmembers Helliwell, Ricker, Vasiliou, and Zitur The following members were absent: None _Cauncilmemker Ricker introduced the following Resolution and proved its adoption: RESOLUTION 90- 293 DENYING RESIDENTIAL PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AMENDMENT FOR STUART CORPORATION (90016) (RPUD 82-1) WHEREAS, Stuart Corporation has requested approval of a Planned Unit Development Plan/Conditional Use Permit amendment to the Master Sign Plan for property located at the southeast quadrant of Rockford Road (New County Road 9) and Plymouth Boulevard; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called Public Hearing and recommends denial; NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does deny the request by Stuart Corporation for a Planned Unit Development Plan/Conditional Use Permit amendment to the Master Sign Plan for property located at the southeast quadrant of Rockford Road (New County Road 9) and Plymouth Boulevard, subject to the following findings: 1. The request is not responsive to Residential Planned Unit Development Conditional Use Permit findings with respect to compatibility with the surrounding neighborhood. 2. The amendment would establish an undesirable precedent for similar PUD developments within the community. 3. No additional PUD attributes are demonstrated in response to the requested for additional PUD design flexibility represented by signage in excess of Zoning Ordinance maximums. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by_ Mayor Bergman , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Bergman, Councilmembers 13alliwell. irker. Vnsiliou. and Zitur The following voted against or abstained None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
