HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1990-247CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 2nd day of April , 19-10— The following members were present: Deputy Mayor Vasiliou, Councilmembers Helliwell, Ricker, and Zitur The following members were absent: Mayor Bergman ,r,r* Councilmember Zitur introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION 90-247 AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF REQUEST TO STATE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR PARTICIPATION IN SHORELAND MANAGEMENT REGULATION MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City has been notified by the Department of Natural Resources that the City must revise its Zoning Ordinance Shoreland Management regulations to comply with revised State-wide standards for "management of shoreland areas" (Minnesota Rules Part 6120.2500-6120.3900) which became effective July 3, 1989; and, WHEREAS, the State Legislature through Laws 1989, Chapter 335, Article 1, Section 21, Subdivision 3 provided for grant assistance to cities; and, WHEREAS, the Department of Natural Resources has advised City staff that all eligible work related to the revision of the applicable local regulations is eligible for the Matching Grant Program; and, WHEREAS, the City administrative staff has estimated that the cost of necessary consultant expertise and legal work could be up to $15,000; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute an application to the Department of Natural Resources for participation in the Matching Grant Program for grant money assistance up to $7,500 for the purposes of adopting revised local land use regulations consistent with the State-wide standards for Shoreland Management. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Helliwell , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Denuty Mayor Vasiliou Councilmembers HeiiLweii. Ricker. and Zitur The following voted against or abstained None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
