EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
OF VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA
October 28, 1968
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting
of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth was held on
October 28, 1968 at the Villr3e Hall, 13800 State Highway No. 55;
commencing at 7:30 o'clock p.m. The following members were
present: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen O'Fallon, Hagen, Hunt and
Humphrey.
The following members were absent: None.
Councilman O'Fallon introduced the following resolution
and moved its adoption:
"RESOLUTION NO, 68-250"
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING CALVIN F. HAWKINSON
TO THE POSITION OF CHIEF OF POLICE OF THE
VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth
has for some months been seeking a qualified person to appoint
to the position of Chief of Police of Plymouth Village, and
WHEREAS, a number of persons have applied for such
position, and
WHEREAS, such applications have been carefully reviewed
by an independent board consisting of well qualified persons
in the Twin Cities area conversant with police affairs, and
WHEREAS, such board has recommended to the Village Counci
of the Village of Plymouth that Calvin F. Hawkinson, one of the
applicants, is a man highly qualified to fill the position of
Chief of Police of the Village of Plymouth, and
WHEREAS, the members of the Village Council have met

with said Calvin F. Hawkinson with respect to offering him the
position of Chief of Police of the Village of Plymouth, and
WHEREAS, it is the unanimous opinion of the ;,.Ilage
Council of the Village of Plymouth that Calvin F. Hawkinson is a
highly qualified police officer and is a man of high personal
character and integrity, and
WHEREAS, said Calvin F. Hawkinson has requested that an
agreement be entered into between himself and the Village of
Plymouth relating to the terms and conditions of his employment,
and
WHEREAS, such an agreement has been prepared and reviewed
by Calvin F. Hawkinson and the Village Council of the Village
of Plymouth,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE
COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH AS FOLLOWS:
Subject to a satisfactory physical fitness
report from a doctor of medicine:
1. Calvin F. Hawkinson is hereby appointed and
designated as the Chief of Police of the Village
of Plymouth effective within a reasonable time
following the adoption of this resolution
consistent with his obligations to his employer.
2. The proposed employment agreement between Calvin F.
Hawkinson and the Village of Plymouth is hereby
approved and the Mayor and Clerk -Administrator
are hereby authorized and directed to sign such
agreement on behalf of the Village of Plymouth.
3. The Clerk -Administrator is hereby directed to
furnish certified copies of this resolution to
such public bodies and agencies as may be requested
and required by law."
The above motion was seconded byCouncilmen Humphrey, Runt &
and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen O'Fallon, Hagen, Hunt and
Humphrey. The following voted against: None.
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and
adopted.

Clerk-Administrator of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, hereby
certify that I have carefully compared the attached and
' foregoing extract of minutes of a special meeting of the Village
Council of said village held October 28, 1968 with the original

complete transcript therefrom insofar as the same relates to

appointing Calvin F Hawkinson to the position of Chief of Polio
of the Village of Plymouth.
