RESOLUTION NO. 69-86
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Village
Council of the Village of. Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 25th day of
April, 1965. The following members were present: llayor Hilde, Ccouncilmen
O'Fallon, Humphrey, Hagen and Hunt; and the following members were absent:
None.
Councilman Hagen introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
A RESOLUTION RELATING TO
CLAUDE D. LIEN, CHIEF OF POLICE
WHEREAS, the 'lllage of Plymouth did on April 1, 19b$, prefer charges
for misconduct and incompetency against Claude D. Lien, Chief of Police of
Plymouth Village and,
WHEREAS, on said date Claude D. Lien was suspended with pay from his
position as Chief of Police of Plymouth Village and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of law made and provided a Veteran's
Preference Hearing Board was selected to hear evidence on said charges and,
WHEREAS, it being the desire of both the Village of Plymouth and said
Claude D. Lien to resolve the differences between them by negotiation and
settlement rather than through proceeding with said hearings,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THF VILI.ACE
OF PLYMOUTH AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Village Council does hereby withdraw its charges against
said Claude D. Lien.
2. having received a letter of resignation from said Claude D.
Lien which resignation is effective July 15, 1968, said Village
Council does hereby reinstate said Claude D. Lien as Chief of
Police of Plymouth Village and does further place said Claude
D. Lien on Leave of absence with pay until the effective date
of sa!d resignation.
3. That said Claude D. Lien during such leave of absence period
shall not exercise any authority or control over police matters
in the Village of Plymouth, viinnesota.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by Councilman Humphrey and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: "Mayor Hilde, Councilmen O'Fallon,
Humphrey, Hagen and Hunt; the following voted against the same: None.
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.

I, the undersigned, being the duly qualified and acting Cleric Administrator
of the Village of Plymouth, 4innesota, hereby certify that I have carefully
compared the attached and foregoing extract of minutes of a special meeting
of the Village Council of said Village held April 25, 1968, with the original
thereof on file in nay office and the same is a full, true and complete
transcript therefrom insofar as the same relates to Claude D. Lien, Chief
of Police.
