SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
JANUARY 26, 1998
A special meeting of the Plymouth City Council was called to order by Mayor Tierney at
6:10 p.m. in the Public Safety Training Room, 3400 Plymouth Blvd., on January 26,
1998. This special meeting was called by the City Council.
COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Tierney; Councilmembers Bildsoe, Johnson, and Black.
ABSENT: Councilmembers Preus, Spigner, and Wold.
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Johnson, Assistant City Manager Lueckert,
Community Development Director Hurlburt, Public Safety Director Gerdes, Assistant to
Public Works Director Sweeney, Park Director Blank, and City Clerk Ahrens.
1998 Legislative Dinner
Staff members presented information and discussion was held on the following
legislative issues: Luce Line Trail, Liquor License Fees, Transit Bonding, Residential
Speed Limits, Strengthening DWI Laws, Fine Distribution, HACA Penalty for Housing
TIF Districts, Prepayment of Subsidized Housing Loans, and Private Property Protection
Act. Brief discussion was also held on issues of property tax reform, affordable housing,
and transit.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
