Special Council Meeting
July 27, 1999
A special meeting of the Plymouth City Council was called to order by Mayor Tierney at 5:15
p.m. in the Public Safety Training Room, 3400 Plymouth Blvd., on July 27, 1999.
COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Tierney; Councilmembers Johnson, Brown, Harstad, Slavik, and
Black.
COUNCIL ABSENT: Councilmember Bildsoe.
STAFF PRESENT: Assistant City Manager Ahrens.
Board and Commission Vacancies
The City Council interviewed the following applicants for board and commission appointments:
Robin Caufinan, Sarah Reinhardt, Jim Willis, Susan Henderson, Sam Garst, Leon Michlitsch,
Richard Abel, Kapila Bobra, Taun Dimatteo, and Diane Hulke. Following the interviews, the
Council directed staff to prepare resolutions for consideration at the next regular meeting to
appoint Leon Michlitsch to the HRA for a term to expire January 31, 2000; Susan Henderson to
the HRA for a term to expire January 31, 2003; and Kapila Bobra to the Planning Commission
for a term to expire January 31, 2002.
The City Council also discussed the potential benefit of having a Planning Commissioner serve
as a non-voting liaison to the HRA. It was noted that Sarah Reinhardt has expressed interest in
serving on the HRA and also currently serves on the Planning Commission. The Council
recommended that the Planning Commission consider designating a liaison to the HRA.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:35 p.m.
