Plymouth City Council and Planning Commission
Special Joint Meeting
March 31, 1999
A special meeting of the Plymouth City Council and Plymouth Planning Commission
was called to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 3400 Plymouth Blvd., on
March 31, 1999.
COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Tierney, Councilmembers Bildsoe, Harstad, Spigner, and
Slavik
COUNCIL ABSENT: Councilmember Johnson
PLANNING COMMISSION PRESENT: Chairman Stulberg; Commissioners Reinhardt,
Sipkins, Berkowitz, and Ribbe
PLANNING COMMISSION ABSENT: Commissioners Stoebner and Stein
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Johnson, Public Works Director Moore, Park and
Recreation Director Blank, Police Lieutenant Ward, Community Development Director
Hurlburt, Planning Supervisor Senness, Planners Lindahl, Drill, and Rask, City Clerk
Ahrens, representatives of SRF Consulting Group, members of City boards and
commissions, and citizens.
Following introductions and welcomes by Mayor Tierney, Chairperson Stulberg, and
City Manager Johnson, Community Development Director Hurlburt described the
process and schedule for the Comprehensive Plan Update.
Charlene Zimmer and other SRF staff facilitated small and large group discussions on the
general issues of "What makes Plymouth a good place to live?", "What qualities do you
want to maintain and enhance in the future?", and "What things need to change?" Ms.
Zimmer explained that the responses will be used to formulate the goals of the
Comprehensive Plan.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
