WHEREAS, it is important to the public safety and welfare
of the citizens of the Village of Plymouth that there be
adequate leadership in and supervision of the Police Department
of the village at all times and,
WHEREAS, to accomplish this purpose, rules and regulations
should be adopti-3 relating to absences from the village by
supervisory personnel of the Police Department,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
AS FOLLOWS:
1. In the absence from the village of the Chief of
police, the Sgt. of Police shall be in charge
of the department.
2. Either the Chief of Police or the Sgt. of Police
must be available to officials and citizens of
the village at all times. In the event that the
person in charge of the department must absent
himself from either (a) police headquarters or
(b) his home, the fact of such absence and a
place where such person can be located must
be made brown to the Hennepin County Sheriff's
Radio Despatches- in Golden Valley.
3. Any proposed deviation from the provisions of
Section 2 and 3 of this resolution must first
be approved by the mayor, or in his absence, the
Acting mayor.
