HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1965-108EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF VILLAGE COUNCIL OF VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minne- sota was held on the 18th day of October, 1985 commencing at 7:30 o'clock P.M. at the Village Hall. The following members were present: Mayor Staples, Trustees Curtis, 0'1" and Humphrey. The following members were absent: Trustee Seviour. * Mayor Staples moved its adoption: introduced the following resolution and Resolution No. 65-108 "RESOLUTION PROTESTING THE LOWERING OF THE WATER LEVEL OF POMERLEAU LAKE Whereas, it appears that a drainage ditch has been dug within the past two years from Pomerleau Lake for the purpose of obtaining water from said lake for other uses and, Whereas, said ditch was not authorized by the Village of Plymouth and it is believed that the digging of said ditch was without any authority whatsoever and, Whereas, the flow of water through said ditch has caused a significant lowering of the water level in said Ponerleau Lake, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the Conservation Department of the State of Minnesota, and such other departments thereof as may be appro- priate, be urged to take immediate steps to order those respon- sible to close the drainage ditch from Pomerleau Lake and restore the water level of said lake to its natural level. 2. The Village Clerk is directed to send certified copies of this resolution to the Conservation Department of the State of Minnesota and to such other departments as may be appropriate." The above motion was seconded by Trustee Curtis and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Staples, Trustees Curtis, O'Fallon and Humphrey. The following voted against: None. Absent: Trustee Seviour. Whereupon said resolution was declared to be duly passed and adopted.
