Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a Special Meeting of the Village
Council of the village of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held in the Village Hall,
13800 State Highway 55, on May 5th, 1965, commencing at 9:00 o'clock P. M.
Present: Mayor Staples, Trustees O'Fallon, Humphrey and Seviour.
Absent: Trustee Curtis.

Mayor Staples introduced the following resolution and moved its
RESOLUTION NO. 65-38
RESOLUTION REQUESTING CITIZENS OF THE
VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH TO COMNfNCE OBSI VANCE OF DAYLIGHT
SAVING TIME ON MAY 9TH, 1965
WH&LEAS, the City Council of the City of St. Paul, Minnesota, and numerous
other communities throughout the state have adopted resolutions directing the
commencement of Daylight Saving Time effective at 2:00 o'clock A. M., May 9,
1965, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Minneapolis may adopt a similar
resolution and,
WHEREAS, for the Village of Plymouth to remain on Central Standard Time
under such circumstances would result in great disorder and confusion for the
citizens and residents of the Village of Plymouth,
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH AS FOLL04JS:
1. In the event the City Council of the City of Minneapolis directs
that said City shall change to Daylight Saving Time effective
2:00 o'clock A. M. on May 9, 1965, or at any other hour on that day,
then, but not otherwise, the Village Council of the Village of
Plymouth requests that all of its residents, citizens, business es-
tablishments, churches, schools, clubs, organizations, and all other
persons within the Village of Plymouth commence the observance of
Daylight Saving Time simultaneous with its commencement in :he City
of Minneapolis and that all such persons, organizations and institu-
tions set their clocks ahead one hour on said date.
2. This resolution shall not be construed and is not intended as an
ordinance or order but a request for the voluntary observance of
Daylight Saving Time. This request shall be in effect until 2:00
A. M. on the fourth Sunday in May, 1965.
The foregoing resolution was duly secanded by Trustee Humphrey and upon
vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Staples,
Trustees O'Fallon, Ht_vnphrey and Saviour. Against: None. Absent: Trustee Curtis.
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Dated May 5,
1965.

resolution and,
WHEREAS, for the Village of Plymouth to remain on Central Standard Tisa

citizens and residents of the Village of Plymouth,
NOW, THNUWORE, BE IT H=W RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILIAGE: OF PLYMOUTH AS FOLLOWS:
