HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1965-017M - EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF VILLAGE COUNCIL OF VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 15th day of February, 1965, at the Village Hall, 13800 State highway No. 55, commencing at 7:30 o'clock P.M. The following members were present: Mayor Staples, Trustees Curtis, O'Fallon, a='3 Humphrey . The following members were absent: N=W Trustee Seviour. Trustee humphrey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65-17 ^A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING DISAPPROVAL OF S.F. 196 RELATING TO REGISTERED LAND SURVEYS WHEREAS, Section 508.48, Subdivision 4, of the Statutes of the State of Minnesota now requires that a registered land survey be approved by the governing body of the area involved as in the case of plats of subdivisions, and WHEREAS, there has been introduced in the Senate of the State of Minnesota as S.F. 196 a bill which would strike from the law the provision that a registered land survey must be approved in the same manner as subdivision plats, and WHEREAS, a registered land survey does constitute a subdivision of land which is as significant and important to a local governing body as a subdivision plat, and WHEREAS, the control by local governing bodies of subdivisions of lands within their boundaries is important to adequate municipal planning in such areas as street develop- ment, sewage disposal, storm water drainage, etc., and WHEREAS, the prc?isions of S.F. 196 would permit the subdivision of land without any requirement of approval or supervision by local governing `-,od_es; NOW THEREFORE, '111E VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH DO HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1. That it is strenuousiy opposed to any change in thr Statutes of Minnesota which would permit the filing of registered land surveys without the approval of the local governing body. 2. That iz urges the Honorable John A. Yngve and the Honorable Henry T. McKnight to oppose such proposed legislation and that it further urges the Minnesota League of Municipalities to oppose such proposed legislation. 3. That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to send certified copies of this resolution to the Honor- able John A. Yngve, the Honorable Henry T. McKnight and to the Minnesota League of Municipalities." The above motion vas seconded by Trustee Curtis , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: , Mayor Staples, Trustees Curtis, C'Fallon, Ind Humphrey .2=dm%vpdx= The following voted against: None. VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH) I, the undersigned, being the duly qualified and acting Clerk of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, do hereby certify that I have carefully compared the attached and foregoing extract of minutes of a regular meeting of the Village Council held on the 15th day of February, 1965, with the original thereof on file in my office and the same is a full, true and complete transcript therefrom insofar as the same relates to the council's opposition to S.F. 196 relating to registered land surveys.
