HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1964-093JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTHWEST REGION MUNICIPALITIES, VILLAGES 6ND TOWNSHIPS WHERE&S the Minneapolis - St.. Paul Sanitary District has heretofore designated the following municipalities, villages and townships as being Included in the so-called "Southwest ?.egion" for sews« planning purposes, namely, Bloomington, Burnsville. Deephaven, Eagan, Eagle Creek,. Eden Prairie, Glendale, Hopkins, North Part of Lebanon, Medicine Lake, Minnetonka, Prior Lake, South Part of Plymouth, Savage, Shakopee, and Woodland; and, WHMMS representatives of these various governmental units have met and discussed the propo.ied plans of the Minneapolis - St. Paul Sanitary District as they pertain to said Southwest Region and the proposal of the Minnesota +later Pollution Control Commission for classification and standards of the minaesota RAver and kributaq Boaters up river from it's junction with the Mississippi River at Ft. Snelling; and, WAW, -EAS said governmental units have made studies of the sewage problem in the Southwest Region and have made proposals of their own for the handling of sewage in said area which are more feasible and eeotwwtaal tban that proposed by the Minneapolis - St. Paul Sanitary District; and, WHEREAS said governmental units have heretofore appeared before the Minnesota Water Pollution Control Commission and have presented such Proposals and supporting exPert testimony with respect thereto; and, WHOWAS Said governmental units in the Southwest Region desire to work out their own sewage problesis separate and apart from and independent of the Minneapclis - St. Paul Sanitary District and to utilise the Minnesota River according to reasonable standards consistent with its realistic uses and potential; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED Thrt-i the g�p�pid - opposition to the comprehensive sewage works pale for the Minneapolis - St. laul Metropolitan area as it pertains to said Southwest Region, and, FURTHER RESOLVED That said proposed classification and standards for use of the Minnesota River be modified to permit a reasonable use thereof for sewage effluent purposes by the Southwest Region to the extant proposed by its various governmeatal units. v, .- FITRACT OF MINUTES Of MEFTING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF 'I1iF: VILLAGE OF PLLYMOUTH HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, was duly held at the Village Hall on the 16th day of November, 1964, commencing at 7:30 o'clock P. M. She following members were presents payor Staples, Trustee-, _^tis, O,Fallon, Clifford and Humphrey. The following members were absent: None.
