VILLAG3' OF PLYMOUTH
RESOLUT ON RECOHNi WDING THE
APPOIVW OF THE HONORABLE
WILLIAM N=N AS JUDGE 'OF THE
HENNEPIN COUNTY COURT
Pursuant to due call and notion thereof, a regular meeting of the Village
Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, was duly held on the 3rd day of June 1963.
The following members were present: Mayor Keefe, Trustees Curtis, O+Fallon
Aeinan and Tart. Absent: None.
Trustee Curtis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Minnesota has enacted legislation
authorizing the establishment of a municipal court for Hennepin County, Minnesota and,
WHFY.FAS, by the terms of said legislation the Governor of the State of Minnesota
is empowered to appoint two now judges to said county court and,
WHEIEAS, the Honorable William Merlin has been serving as municipal judge for
the ViLUge of Plymouth since its creation in 1961), and,
W}iffiiM, said William Merlin has served as municipal judge for the Village of
Plymouth with great distinction and in the course of said service has received-4tional
recognition for his efforts in behalf of traffic safety and traffic improvement ::and,
WHEREAS, said William Merlin has been honored by the municipal judges °( the
State int Hi.nneeota in that said association has elected him their state president,
Wd THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH:
That the Honorable Karl E. Rolvaag, Governor of the State of Minnesota, is
hereby urged to appoint the Honorable William Merlin as a Judge of the Hennepin County
Court and the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth does enthusiastically recommend
mad Williams Merlin for such appointuant.
Motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Trustee
OlPallon and upon vote being taken thereon the fol -owing voted in favor thereof: Trus-
tees Curtis, O'Fallon, Rainan, Tart and Mayor Keefe. Against: None.
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Dated
June 3r 1963.
