HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1963-015RES OLUTI-OW-63-15 RELATING TO THE REDISTRICTING 0 `IENNEPIN COUNTY WHEREAS; The Board of Hennepin County Commissioners on November 27, 1962 by vote of four to one to redistrict Hennepin County in a manner unsatisfactory to the Village Council of Plymouth in Jennepin County and also contrary to the wishes of the majority of municipalities in said county and, WHEREAS; The Hennepin County Commissioner Districts are drawn in such a manner depriving the citizens of Hennepin County, outside the City of Minneapolis, of fair and realistic representation on said County Board and, WHEREAS; Present legislation is inadequate to accomplish desirable representation on said County Board, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of Plymouth, Hennepin County, Minnesota, that this body urge the legislators of the State of Minnesota at its 1963 Session to enact the necessary legislation providing adequate representation for all of the citizens of Hennepin County on the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners. Duly presented and passed in regular session by the Village Council of Plymouth, Minnesota, on this T••relfth Day of March, 1963.
