Trustee Curtis introd!,ced the following resolution and moved its RESOLUTION 62-20 ESTABLISHING PERSONNEL PROR:EDURES COVERING VACATIONS, LEAVES OF AB- SENCE, HOLIDAYS AND SICK LEAVE. WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth desires to P .1• establish personnel procedures and regulations covering Vacations, Leaves of Absence, Holidays and Sick Leave for full-time employees of the Village of Plymouth, NOW THEREFORE, Be It Resolved By the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth. 1. VACATIO:JS Vacations will be granted to eadh employee who has been established of record as a full time employee. A full time employee is one employed on a monthly or annual salary basis and works a normal forty hour week from date of employment but excluding vacations, sick leave or holidays. A full time employee is also one employed and paid on an hourly basis and one who works a normal forty hour week from date of employment when work is available, excluding vaoations, sick leave or holidays. Any employee employed for a regular, full time position shall be con- sidered under probation during the first ninety (90) days of employment. If his employment has been satisfactory, his vacation time will commence from the first day of his employment and be applicable to the following schedule: 5/1219 day per month vacation for the first year of empljy- meet or any portion of a year. From the beginning of the second year of full time continuous employment through the ninth (9) year each full time employee shall earn vacation at the rate of 5/6's of a day per month or ten (10) working days per year. From the tenth (10th) year and on, each full time employee shall earn vacation at the rate of one and one-fourth (14) days per month or fifteen (15) working days per year. The vacation year, for accountability of time, shall commence as of May 1. Ary vacation accumulated must be taken prior to March 31 of the year in which it is applicable. No accumulation of vacation periods is permissible. Vacation schedules are to be worked out with the amployees and approved by the department head. Vacations for Department Heads to be approved by Council. Any employee entitled to a vacation for a specified length of time may make application for additional time, but without compensation, and be granted subject to the approval of his department head. Vacation dates shall be allotted to employees at their choosing in accordance with the seniority of the employees in each department. Any full time employee who has been discharged or dismissed shall be entitled to receive compensation for any accumulated vacation time. 2. New Years Day Labor Day Washington's Birthday Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Memorial Day Independence Day Employees rewired to work on Holideys shall receivf. compensatory time off to be agreed upon with tt,e Department head. 4. SICK LEAVE: Any employee, after completing a 90 -day probationary period and considered as a full time employee of the Village, shall come under the Sick Leave Program, effective as of the first date of employment. Sick Leave to be granted each hull time employee from the data of employment at the rate of =no (1) dah per month. All unused Sick Leave shall be accumulative until a maximum of sixty (o0) days has been attained. Any Sick Leave accrued to true benefit of an employee shall he cancelled and cease upon his disaissal, resigning, or retirement from Village employment. Absence on account of Siek Leave must be given by the employee or his representative within one hour of his work starting time for the day of absence and be approved by the department head and any absence over a period of three (3) consecutive days must be substantiated by a certificate from a practicing physician or approved by the department head. Motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Trustee Yngve and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Keefe, Trustees Yngve, Curtis, Kreat$ and Teberg.
