HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1961-055RLWLUTI(X 61-55 ,% a o Trustee Yngve presented the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION DIRECTING PURCHASE OF NEW POLICE CAR WHEREAS, on the lot day of November, 1961 the police car owned by the Village of Plymouth and used for the purposes of patrolling and law enforcement within the Village was totally destroyed in an accident which occurred on old County Road #►6 and, WHEREAS, said police car was the only vehicle owned by the Village capable of being used for such police work and, WHEREAS, the loss of said police car has left the Village without any vehicle which can be used for purposes of police protection and law enforresvnt and, WHEREAS, it is imperative for the health, safety and welfare of the people of the Village of Plymouth that the Village acquire another vechicle immediately so that police protection and law enforcement can be afforded to the residents of the Village and, WHEREAS, it is deemed that an emergency exists and that strict compliance with the requirements of section 412.311 Minnesota Statutes would result in delays in the acquisition of a new vehicle for police use, which delays would further endanger the health, safety and welfare of the reside;ate of the V1.7 -Re, MOF WREFORE, OX IT RESOLVED DY TRE COT -?CIL OF THE VILLAGE Of PLYMOUrff, "That the Village of Plymouth purchase from !*z!!!!X~@. Ise. 1962 PlYamtb Police 4 Dr. Sedan a (describe vehicle to be purchased) 3921-103041 for the total sum of $ 2675.00 , and that all moneys received from the insurance payments made to the Village on the loss of the forwer police car be applied to the payment of the above described vehicle." The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Trustee Ereats and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: 1. Mayor Anderson, Trustees Keefe, Hreatz, Theis and Yngve.
