The Village Council of Ply-
mouth do ordain as follows:
Section 1. Fire Department Es-
tablished. There is hereby estab-
lished in this village a volun-
teer fire department consisting of
a Chief, an Assistant Chief; such
other subordinate officers as the
volunteer Bre department may
deem expedient, and not leas than
twenty (20} nor more than forty
(40) Bremen.
Section 2 Election, The Chief
of the Fire Department and the
Assistant Chief shall be elected
annually by the members, of the
department subject to conf rma-

his successor has been dsly elect-
ed, except that he may be re-
moved by the Council or by two-
thirds vote of the entire depart-
ment for cause and after a hear-

ior, and may be removed only for
cause by a two-thirds vote of the
entire department.
Section 3. Duties of Chief. The
Chief shall have control over all
of the Are fighting apparatus and
shall be solely responsible for its

make a report, semi-annually, to
the council at its meeting in
March and September, as to the
condition of the equipment, the
needs of the fire department, and
the names of the officers and
members in good standing. He
may submit additional reports
and r e e4i m m e n dations at any
V sting of the council. He shall
be responsible for the proper
training and discipline of the
members of the fire department,
and may suspend any member for
refusal or neglect to obey orders
pending action by the depart-
ment on the member's discharge
or retention.
Section 4. Records. The Chief
shall see that a complete record
of all fires is kept in convenient
form. Such record shall include
the time of the alarm, location of
fire, cause of fire (if known),
type of building, name of owner
and tenant, purpose for which oc-
cupied, value of building and
contents, members of the de -
p a r t m e n t responding to the
alarm, and such other informa-
tion as he may deem advisable
or as may be required from time
to time by the council or State
Insurance Department.
Section 5. Practice Drills. It
shall be the duty of the Chief,
when the weather permits, to
hold a monthly practice drill of at
least one hour's duration for the
fire department and to give the
firemen instruction in approved
methods of fire fighting and fire
preventinn.
Section 6. Assistant Chief. In
the absence or disability of the
Chief, the Assistant Chief shall
perform all the functions and ex-
ercise all of the authority of the
Chief.
Section 7. Firemen. The Chief,
the Assistant Chief and firemen
small not be less than twenty-
one (21) nor more than sixty
(60) years of age and able bo-
died. They shall become members
of the fire department only after
a six (6) months' probationary
period. The department may re-
quire that each candidate, before
he may become a probationary
fireman, must satisfy certain min-
imum requirements which may
be specified by the department;
and that he must pass a satisfac-
tory physical examination.
Section B. Loss of Membership.
Firemen absent from four con-
secutive drills, calls or meetings,
without presenting an acceptable
excuse therefor to the Depart-
ment, shall forfeit membership in
the department.
Section 9. Present Members.
Persons who are members of the
fire department at the time of the
adoption of this ordinance shall.
not be required to serve a pro-
bationary period before receiv
ing firemen`s rating. - ti
Section 10. Relief Association.
The members amd officers of the
Are department shall organize
themselves into a Firemen's Re-
lief Association.
Section 11. Interference with
Department. it shalt be unlaw-
ful for any person to give or
make, or cause to be f'aven or
made, an alarm of Are without
probable cause, or to neglect or
refuse to obey any reasonable or-
der of the chief at a fire, or to
interfere with the Are depart-
ment In the discharge of its du-
ties; and any person convicted of
violation of this section shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and shall be punished by a fine
of not less than $25.00 nor more
than $.50.00 and costs or impri-
sonment in the County Jail not to
exceed 10 days.
