HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Ordinance 1955-04Chapter 73 MOrdinance 55-4 AN ORDINANCE LICENSING AND REGULATING THE PMATL SALE OF CIGARETTES, CIGARETTE WRAPPERS, TOBACCO, AND TOBACCO PRODUCTS, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF LICENSES AND A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF. :he Village Council of the Village of Plymouth ordains: Section 1. License Required: No person shall directly, by coin ,machine or other -'3e, keep for retail sale, sell at retail., or otherwien dispose of, any cigarette!, cigarette wrapper, tobacco, or tobacco products at tiny place in th-a Village of Plymouth unless he shall have obtained a license therefore as provided herein. , Section 2. Application: Application for such license shall be made to the Village Clerk and shall state the full name and address of the applicant, the location of the building to be occupied by the applicant in the conduct of his business, the kil-A of business to be conducted, and such other information as the village may require. The license shall be granted by the Council and issued by the c'.Prk upon payment of the required fee. Section 3. License Fee: A fee of $12.00 shall a ccompany-each such application and -if Wanted, the license shall aspire on December 31st following its issuance. Section k. ton -Transferrable: Licerses issued hereunder shall not be transferrable. Section 5. Restrictions: No person shall sell, give away, or other- wise furnish any cigarette, cigarette paper, tobacco, or tobacco product to any person under the ape of eighteen years. No person shall keep for axle, sell, or dispose of any cigarette, or other tobacco product containing opium, morphine, jimson meed, bells donna, strychnia, cocain, marijuana, or any other deleterious or poisoniss drug, except nicotine. Section b. Display of License: Every such license shall be openly displayed in the place of business to which it has been issued. Section 7. Violations Any person, fi�m'or corporation violating arW of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $100.00 or im- prisonment for not to exceed ninety days.
