The Village Council of the Village of Plymouth ordaii+a: Section 1. Definition: The term "dog" as used herein shall mean every animal of the canine family. Section 2. License Required: Every owner or keeper of a dog within the limits of the Village of Plymouth shall cause the same to be registered, numbered, descriwe' and licensed in the office of the Clerk of said Villaea. Such license shall be for the whole or unexpired portion of the year in which the same is issued and shall a xpire on Jeeember 31st following. Provided, however, that no such license shall be required for a dog less than six months old. Section 3. Issuance of Licenses The Village Clerk shall pro- vide and furnish for each licensed dog a metallic tag upon which there shall be stamped or engraved the register number of the dog, the word, "Plymouth", and the year when licensed. The application for a license shall be accompanied by a M of $2.00 for each male dog or spayed female and $5.00 for each other female dog. Upon due proof to the satisfaction of the Village Clerk that any owner or keeper of a dog has lost or in any other manner been deprived of such metallic tag and upon proof that,such dog was licensed, the Village Clerk may issue a duplicate theroof upon the payment of 250 to the Village Clerk. All license fees provided for herein collected by the Village Clerk shall be turned over to the Village Treasurer. Section 4. Use of M: Every owner or keeper of a dog within the village limits shall place and keep around the neck of the dog a collar, on which shall be securely fixed the metallic tag above provided for. Section 5. Digs Prohibited from Runn at 'Arke on Public Grounds: No owner or keeper of a dog =hall allow the same to run at large upon any public grounde other than streets and alleys. Section 6. Female Dos ik Heat: No owns. or keeper of a female dog shall ^omit or suffer the same to run at large within the village while the same is in haat. Section 7. Rabies Control: The mayor may by order and notice thereof posted in three public places in the Village, require that all dogs allowed to run at large or permitted Ripon the public streets or grounue within the Village, be muzzled in such manner as he shall pre- scribe until such order is revoked; and any person having the care or control of a dog who shall fail or refuse to comply with such order shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. Section IOs�! ' of 2Ms Any dog so impounded shall be kept 'for at least five days unless sooner reclaimed by the owner thereof. The owner of any impounded dog may reclaim the sans by paying sus impounding fee of $5.00 plus the cost of the keep or such dog in said pound and upon exhibiting to the keeper of the"pound a license duly issued pursuant to the provisions hereof. :lection 11. 2b2caltion of _apjss Any dog not reclaimed within five days after being impounded may be sold for a sum not less than the cost of the keep of such dog and the displaying of a license if th© same is to be kept within the Village of Plymouth. If any dog; impounded for 'a period of five days and not reclaimed and said dog has not bitten or been suspected of biting any person, may be disposed of by the pound keeper, Section 12. Records The pound keeper shall keep an &:curate account of all dogs received at the dog pound and of all dogs killed, released or disposed of therefrom and shall tarn such account over to 'the Village Clerk monthly. _ Section 13. Biting; :cs: Whenever any doer within the Village a of Plymuth shall have bitten any person, the Village health officer may,, nand he is hereby authorised and empowered to order the dog impounded for sueh' time as he shall deem advisable and no such dog or any diseased dog shall be killed until so ordered by the health officer. Section 14. -Vid t o as Any person violating any of the pro— visions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $100.00 or impftsioned for not to exceed ninety days.
