ORDINANCE NO. 85.03
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE CITY COUNCIL; AMENDING
SUBSECTIONS 200.03(3) AND 200.07 OF THE PLYMOUTH CITY CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH DOES OP.DAIN:
Section 1. The Plymouth City Code, Subsection 200.03(3),
is amended to read:
(3) Choose one of its members as seting deputy
mayor, who shall perform the duties of the
mayor during the disability or absence of
the mayor from the City or, in case of a
vacancy in the office of mayor, until a
successor has been appointed and qualifies;
Section 2. The Plymouth City Code, Subsection 200.07,
is amended to read:
200.07. Presiding Officer; als. Subdivision 1.
Who Presides. The Mayor shall preside at all meetings
of the Council. In the absence of the Mayor, the
Aetfng Deputy Mayor shall preside. In the absence
of both, the Council member with the longest term
of service on the Council shall preside. The Pre-
siding Officer shall preserve strict order and
decorum at all meetings of the Council. The Pre-
siding Officer shall state every question coming
before the Council, announce the decision of the
Council on all subjects and decide without debate
all questions of procedure, subject, however, to
the final decision of the Council on appeal. The
Presiding Officer may introduce motions, second
motions, and speak on any question.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its
passage and publication.
