HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Ordinance 1984-30CITY OF PLYMOUTH ORDINANCE NO. 84-30 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 720 OF CHAPTER VII OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO CITY WATER SYSTEM THE CITY i-'OUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 71ZO.15.of Chapter VII of the City Code is amended to read: 720.15. Accounts; How Kept. All accou+Its shall be kept on the books of the -*et-er FinanceDepartment by the house and street number and under the account number assigned thereto and the name of the owner or of the person signing the application for service. All bills and notices sent out by the Finance Department shall be sent to the house or street number of the property. If non-resident owners or agents desire personal notice sent to a different address, they shall file an application therefor with the Finance Department. Any error or change in any address shall be promptly reported to the Finance Department. Section 2. A new Section 720.16 is herewith added to Chapter VII of the City Code: 720.16. Service Charge Imposed. A charge is hereby imposed upon every establish- ment served by the water supply system either directly or Indirectly, for the use OT the Tacilities of the water supelz s stem and for connection therewith, whic charge sa e as hereinafter—provided In subsection charaes for use o the City's water supply system shalr rm dua on the date specified the friHance Department for the respect ve account and shall e delinquent thereafter. Section 3. Section 720.17, Subdivision 1 of Chapter VII of the City Code is amended to read: 720.17 Water Rates. Subdivision 1. Basic Char es. The rate due and payable to the City by each water user within the municipality for water taken from the water supply system shall be as follows: (a) Account Charge. A charge of $1.50 per month shall be made to every water account to!;;fray administrative and billing costs of the City. (b) Volume Charge. A charge of $ .60 $-.42 per one thousand gallons of water used shall be made to each water account. The following monthly charge shall be made to every water account to reflect the water demand the establishment can place upon the system. (e) Late Payment Charge. An amount equal to 10% of the un aid current month service charges s it be _added to each account which Is not paid byte due (f) Water Availability Charge. ORDINANCE N0. 84-30 • • Page 3 Section 4. Sections 720.19 and 720.21 of Chapter VII of the City Code are deleted. Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication, except the changed rates shall be effective January 1, 1985 or as indicated.
