AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY BY ADDING
SECTION 905.19 TO THE CITY CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF PLYMOUTH DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Plymouth City Code is amended by adding the following thereto
as Section 905.19:
"905.19. Fires or Barbecues on Balconies or Patios.
Subdivision 1. In any structure containing two or more vertically
stacked units no person shall. kindle, maintain or cause any fire or open
flame on any balcony above ground level, or on any ground floor patio
Immediately adjacent to or within 15 feet of any unit.
Subdivision 2. No person shall store or use any fuel, barbecue, torch or
other similar heating or lighting chemicals or devices in either of the
above places.
Subdivision 3. Natural gas fired barbecue grills which are permanently
mounted, plumbed to the building's natural gas supply and maintaining a
minimum clearance of sixteen (16) inches on the side-, and back of the
grill may be Installed on balconies and patios."
Section 2. This ordinance is effective on ''June 30, 1984 following
passage and publication.
