HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Ordinance 1981-03ORDINANCE NO. 81-03 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PLYMOUTH CITY CODE SECTION 400.01 SUBDIVISIONS 2 AND 3 AND SECTION 400.07 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH DOES ORDAIN, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 400.01 Subdivision 2 is amended to read: Subd. 2. Procedures and Administration. (a) As provided by the 1980 edition of the State Building Code, the following are hereby adopted by reference: (1). 1979 Edition of the Uniform Building Code, identified as "UBC"; (2). 1978 Edition of the National Electric Code, identified as "NEC"; (3). 1978 American National Standard Safety Code for Elevators, Dumbwaiters, Escalators and Moving Walks, identified as ANSI A17.1-1978 and Supplement, ANSI A17.1a-1979. (4). 1979 Minnesota Plumbing Code, identified as MHD 120 through MND 135. (5). "Flood woofing Regulations", June 1972, Office of the Chief of Engineers, U.S. Army. (6). One and Two Family Dwelling Code, 1975 Edition. (7). Minnesota Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Code, identified as SBC 7101 through SBC 8505. (8). "Design and Evaluation Criteria for Energy Conservation in New Buildina, Additions, and Remodeled Elements of Buildings and Standards For Certain Existing Public Buildings", identified as 2MCAR Section 1.16001 through 2MCAR Section 1.16006. (9). State of Minnesita Mobile Home Installation Standards 1977, identified as 2MCAR 1.90450 installations and related definitions in 2MCAR 1.90103. (10). Standards of Performance for Solar Energy Systems and Subsystems Applied to Energy Need of Buildings, 1977 Edition, identified as 2MCAR 1.16101 through 2MCAR 1.16108. i } Ordinance No. 81-03 Page Two (b) In addition to those items listed above, certain Appendices, Standards and Supplemental Materials referenced in the Code are hereby adopted by reference as part of the Building Code of the City of Plymouth and incorporated into this ordinance as completely as if set out in full, including but are not limited to the following: (1). Technical Requirements for Fallout Shelters, identified as SBC appendix "A". (2). Variations in Snow Loads, identified as Minnesota State Building Code, Appendix "B". (3). 1979 Uniform Building Code Appendix Chapter 35. (4). Minnesota Plumbing Code Appendix "B". (c). The following Appendices, Standards and Supplemental Materials are not a mandatory part of the Code but are adopted by reference for the City of Plymouth and are incorporated into this ordinance as completely as if set out in full. (1). Minnesota State Building Code Appendix "C". Abbreviations and addresses of Technical Organizations. `i (2). 1979 UBC Appendix, Chapters 12, 38, 48, 49, 55 and 70. 'i i (3). Minnesota Plumbing Code Appendices C & D. (4). Flood Proofing Regulations, Sections 201.2 through 208.2. i I Section 2. Section 400.01 Subdivision 3 is amended to read: t Subd. 3. Organization and Enforcement. The organization of the Building Department and enforcement of the Code shall be conducted within j the guidelines established by Chapter 2 of the Uniform Building Code 1979 Edition. Section 3. Section 400.07 is amended to read: (b) Surcharge. In addition to the permit fee required by (a) above, the applicant shall pay a surcharge in the amount fixed by law. 1 The amount required by law shall be remitted monthly to the Minnesota Department of Adminstration. I Section 4. Section 905.03 relating to Fire Zones is hereby repealed. Section 5. This ordinance shall be effective on February 1, 1981. i i I M yor ATTEST: j City Clerk i i!
