CITY OF PLYMOUTH
ORDINANCE NO. 75- 5
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER VIII, SECTIONS 8 XND 9
OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO SANITARY SEWER
AND WATER USER CHARGES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Amendment of City Code. Section 8.03 of Chapter VIII of
the City Code is hereby repealed and the following substituted therefor:
"Section B. RATES AND CHARGES FOR SANITARY SEWER SERVICE.
8.03. Charges for sewer service within the City shall be the
following rates:
(a) Single family residence, duplex and townhouse units -
rate per year $58.00, penalty 10% of the delinquent amount per
quarter.
(b) Multiple dwellings (3 or more units except townhouses) -
rate per year $46.50 per unit, penalty 10% of the delinquent
amount per quarter.
(c) Trailer courts and mobile home parks - $46.50 per unit
per year, charged quarterly, on the basis of the number of trailer f
homes in place in the park at the commencement of each quarter, !
penalty 10% of the delinquent amount per quarter.
(d) The sewer service charges for commercial, industrial,
motel, hotel, institutional and all other users not covered in
subsection 8.03 (a), (b) and (c) shall be upon a volumetric
charge based upon water consumption as follows:
A sewer service charge of 58¢ for each 1,000 gallons,
or part thereof, subject to a minimum charge of $4.80 per
month, penalty 10% of the delinquent bill per month. The
user may establish additional meters so that the water
being discharged into the sanitary sewer system will be
metered separately from other water."
Section 2. Amendment of City Code. Section 9.12 of Chapter VIII of
the City Code is hereby repealed and the following substituted therefor:
"Section 9. RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR WATER SERVICE.
9.12. Water Rates.
A. The rate due and payable to the City by each water user
within the municipality for water taken from the Water Supply
System shall be as follows:
Rates Per quarter:
First 45,000 gallons per billing period - 66 cents per
1,000 gallons.
Next 30,000 gallons per billing period - 59 cents per
1,000 gallons.
Next 125,000 gallons per billing period - 53 cents per
1,000 gallons.

Next 200,000 gallons per billing period - 46 cents per

In case the meter is found to have stopped, or to be operating
in a faulty manner, the amount of water used will be estimated
in accordance with the amount used previously. Where service
is for less than a quarterly period, this charge will be pro-
rated on a monthly basis.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall ,become effective
upon its passage and publication. S'
