HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Ordinance 1972-07ORDINANCE NO. 72-7 VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER VI, SECTION 9, OF THE VIILAGE CODE RELATING TO THE ELECTRICAL CODE THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Amendment of Village Code. Sections 9.01 - 9.05, inclusive, of Chapter VI of the Village Code are hereby repealed and the following sections are enacted and substituted therefor: "CHAPTER VI. CONSTRUCTION CODE. Section 9. ADOPTION OF NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE - 1971 EDITION (NEPA NO. 70-1971; ANSI CI -1971 Rev. of CI -1968). 9.01. There is hereby adopted and incorporated into the Village Code of the Village of Plymouth,.Minnesota, by reference, that certain published code known as the National Electrical Code - 1971 Edition (NEPA NO. 70-1971; ANSI CI -1971 Rev. of CI -1`968). 9.02.. Three (3) copies of said National Electrical Code shall be marked as "Official Copy - Village of Plymouth" and be filed for reference and inspection in the office of the Village Clerk. 9.03. Fee Procedure. The fees established and set forth in this section shall be collected by the Building Inspector before issuance by him of any permits for which fees are re- quired under the provisions of this Code. The Building Inspector shall not issue any such permit for which the payment of a fee is required by said Code until such fee shall have been paid to said Bu-ilding Inspector, excepting, however such permits as may be issued by him for work to be done for the Village of Plymouth, without the payment of any fee. Every person, at the time of applying to the Building Inspector for any permit for 'which a fee is re- quired to be paid under this Code, except street lighting permits shall make a statement in writing, upon blanks and forms to be furnished by the Building Inspector for that purpose, which sha,l`l contain` information as to the location, nature, extent and cost of the proposed structure, work, installation,or other purpose, as well as all other infor- mation -which the Building inspector shall have the right to require under this Code,. and said statement shall contain a declaration that the facts and representations therein made are true and p'orrect, which statement shall be sub cribed to by the ,person 'or persons, officer or agent of the corporation applying for said permit. Upon such statement being filed as above required, -and upon the payment to the Building Inspector' by 'the applicant for said permit, the required fee for said permit, said Building Inspector shall issue _uch permit. 9.04. Minimum Fee. In no case shall the fee charged for any permit Tssuea-Fy the Building Inspector be less than $3.00. 9.05. When Fees Doubled. Should any person begin work of any kind, such as ere n e,ore set forth, or for which a permit from the Building Inspector is required by this Code, without having secured the necessary permit therefor from the Building lnspector,either previous'. to or during the day.of commencement of such work, or on the raxt succeeding business day where such work is commenced on a Saturday or on a Sunday, or a holidey; he shall, when subsequently securing. such permit, be required to pay double the fees provided for such permit, and shall be subject to all the penal provisions of this Code. 9.06. False Statemen'-s. No person shall make any false statements in connecti n-wiIN the securing of any permit from the Building Inspector: 9.07. Fee Schedule. The Building Inspector, before issuing any permit for trhe instI lation of any electrical work, wiring or device. shall require the payment, by the applicant for such permit, the fees in the amount hereinafter set forth: (a) There is hereby adopted and incorporated into the Village Code of the Village of Plyymo�uth. Minnesota, by reference, Sections 202.020, 202.030, 202.040, 202.050, 202.060,_202.070, 202.080, 202.090, 202.100, 202.110, 202;120, 202.130, and 202.140, of Chapter 202 of the Fee Ordinance, City of Minneapolis, as the same existed on January 1, 1970. (b)Three (3) copies of said Fee Ordinance, City of Minneapolis, shall be marked as "Official Copy --Village of Plymouth" and be filed for reference and inspection in the office of the Village Clerk. (c) Low Voltage Circuits. For the installation of remote con signal circuits and all circuits of less than fifty (50) volts, there shall be a minimum inspection fee of $3.00 for the first ten (10) outlets or any part thereof; for outlets eleven (11) to twenty (20) or any part thereof, an additional fee of $3.00 shall be charged; for each ten (10) additional outlets or any part thereof over the first twenty, (20)outlets, an additional fee of $1.50 shall be charged. 9.08. Penalties. Any person, firm, group, association, corporation or other organiza—tTon violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished for each separate conviction by a fine not to exceed $300 or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed 90 days. Section 2. Effective Date. This Ordinance shalt take effect upon its passage and publication. Adopted by the Village Council this 1st day of May. 1972. Mayor ATTEST:
