ORDINANCE NO. 71- 8
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE
CODE TO ADOPT BY REFERENCE THE
FIRE PREVENTION CODE - 1970 EDITION
T:1r, VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH DOES HEREBY
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Amendment of Village Code. Section 7 of
Chapter VI of the Village Code is hereby repealed and the
following is hereby adopted and subatttuted therefor:
"Section Adoption of Fire Prevention Code by Reference.
7.01. There is hereby adoptee' and incorporated
into the Village Code of the Vi11�ge of Plymouth,
Annesota, by reference, that certain published Code
prepared by the American Insurance Association successor
to the National Board of Fire Underwriters for general
circulation and use, which is entitled "Fire Prevention
Code - 1970 Edition".
7.02. Three (3) copies of said "Fire Prevention
Code - 1970 Edition" shall be marked as "official copies"
and filed for reference and inspection in the office of
the Village Clerk.
7.03. Section 14.3 of the "Fire Prevention Code -
1970 Edition" is hereby amended by adding the following
thereto:
"Section 14.3. Maintenance of Equipment.
All persons engaged in the servicing and recharging
of fire extinguishers within the village shall be
required to obtain an annual license from the village
and pay therefor a fee of $15.00. Such license shall
expire on December 31st of each year. Before such
license is issued, an applicant shall file with the
Village Clerk a surety bond in the penal sum of
$1,000.00 to secure the faithful performance of
contracts for the servicing and recharging of such
fire extinguishers."
7.04. Whenever any of the provisions of said Fire
Prevention Code - 1970 Edition are inconsistent or
conflict with any of the provisions of the Uniform Building;
Code, the previsions of the Uniform Building Code shall
prevail."
Section 2. Effective Date. Tris ordinance shall take
effect upon its passage and publication.
