ORDINANCE NO. 68-jR
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER VIII, SECTION 5.05
OF THE VILLAGE CODE RELATING TO THE REGULATIONS
OF THE USE OF SEWERS AND DRAINS AND REQUIRING
CONNECTION TO SUCH SEWERS AND DRAINS.
THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Amendment of Village Code. Section 5.05 (a) of
Chapter VIII of the Village Code is hereby amended by deleting
said section and substituting the following therefor:
115.05. Certain Facilities Required - Owner's Duties.
(a) The owner of all houses, buildings or
property used for human occupancy, employment,
recreation or otherpurposes situated within
the village and abutting any street alley
or right of way in which there is now located
or may in the future be located a public
sanitary sewer or combined sewer of the
village, is hereby required at his expense to
install suitable toilet facilities therein.
In the event a cesspool or septic tank requires
modification or repair and in the further event
that a public sanitary sewer is located
within 100 feet of the property line,
the owner of such property shall be required
to connect to the public sewer. Provided
however that the owners of all houses, buildings
or properties used for human occupancy, employ-
ment, recreation or other purposes situated
within the village and abutting any street,
alley or right of way in which there was
located on September 1, 1968 a public sanitary
sewer or combined sewer of the village, is
hereby required at his expense to connect such
houses, buildings or properties to such public
sanitary sewer or combined sewer on or before
September 30, 1969. Connections to public
sanitary sewer facilities installed subsequent
to September 1, 1968 will be required within
18 months following the date of the availability
of such sewer facilities to the property.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effecti
upon its passage and publication.
