ORDINANCE NO. 68-q
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER II SECTION 2 OF
VILLAGE CODE WITH RESPECT TO ATTENDANCE OF
COUNCILMEN AT COUNCIL MEETINGS
THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 - Amendment of Village Code. The Village Code of the
Village of Plymouth, Minnesota is hereby amended to add the
following thereto as Chapter II Section 2.11:
"CHAPTER II - ADMINISTRATIVE CODE
...2.11. Required Attendance at Council Meetings.
(a) The Mayor and each Councilman shall be
required to attend not less than one
regular meeting of the Village Council
each month. In the event that a regular
meeting in any month falls on a legal
holiday and a special meeting is scheduled
in lieu thereof, such special meeting shall
be deemed to be a regular meeting for the
purposes of this section.
(b) In the event that the Mayor or any Councilman
fails to attend at least one regular meeting
of the Village Council in any month, such
Council member shall forfeit his full
salary as Mayor or Councilman for one month.
(c) The Clerk -Administrator, in the event of a
forfeit as provided in (b) above, shall
certify the fact of such forfeit in writing,
together with the applicable dates of absence
of such Council member, to the Village
Treasurer. The Village Treasurer shall at
the time of the issuance of salary checks to
the Mayor and Councilmen next following the
month of such absence, issue a check payable
to such Council member in the amount of his
monthly salary but shall immediately cancel
such check by writing across the face thereof
the words: ''Salary forfeited pursuant to
Village Code Chapter II Section 2.11. 111

Section 2 - Effective Date. This Ordinance shall become
effective upon its passage and publication.
Adopted by the Village Council the 14th day of
February , 1963.
