AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER II, SECTION 6
OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH
RELATING TO THE ORGANIZATION OF THE VOLUNTEER
FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Village Council of the Village of Plymouth do hereby
ordain as follows:
Section 1 - Amendment of Ordinance Code.
1.01. Section 6.02 of Chapter II of the ordinance code
of the Village o. Plymouth is hereby deleted and
the following substituted therefor:
116.02. Personnel. The Chief of the
Fire Depa�r men, the Assistant Chief
and other officers of the department
shall be appointed by the Village
Council upon the recomr;endation of the
Clerk -Administrator. Each such officer
shall hold office for an indefinite
period. Firemen and probationary fire-
men shall be appointed by the Vil]age
Council upon Lice reaomraendation of the
Clerk-Administ,ator and shall continue
as members of the department until
removal therefrom by the Village Council
upon recommendation of tine Clerk -Admini-
strator."
1.02. The ordinance code of the Village of Plymouth is
hereby further amended by deleting the fourth
and final sentence of Section 6.'.,, Chapter Il
and substituting the following for:
116.03. Duties of Chief. shall
be responsibie for the proper training
and discipline of the members oP the
Fire Department and with the con:urrence
of the Clerk-Administ=_tor and ..a Village
Council, may suspend any member :Dr refusal
or neglect to obey orders."
1.03. The ordinance code of the Village of Plymouth is
further amended by deleting the third and final
sentence of Section 6.07, Chapter II and
substituting the following therefor:
116.07. Firemen. . . .The Counci_ :.iay
require—tWaf each candidate, before he
may become a probationary fireman, must
satisfy certain minimum requirements
Which shall be established by the
Council upon recommendation of thb
Chief and the Clerk -Administrator,
and that he must pass a satisfactory
physical examination."
1.04. The ordinance code of the Village of Plymouth is
hereby further amended by deleting Section 6.08
of Chapter YY.
Section 2 - Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
upon its passage and publication.
Adopted by the Village Council August 21, 1867.
