1.01 The Minnesota Plumbing
Lode adopted by the Minnesota
State Board of Health on July 20,
1937 and as amended on May 9,
1539, January 14, 1947 and Octo-
ber 16, 1951 is hereby adopted
as an Ordinance of the Village of
Plymouth by reference and is
made a part hereof as though
fully set forth at this point.
1.02 Three (3) copies of said
Minnesota Plumbing Code shall
be pumiced as "official copies" and
filed by reference and inspection
in the office of the Village Clark.

2.01 Article I of said Minnesota
Plumbing Code is hereby amend-
ed by adding the following sec-
tions thereto:
"Sec. 24 - The term "Munici-
pality" means the Village of Ply-
mouth.
..See. 25 - The world "Council"
means the Council of the Village
of Plymouth.
"Sec. 26 - The word "Clerk"
mean the Clerk of the Village of
Plymouth.
"Sec. 27 - The word "Inspec-
tor" means the person or persoLs
employed or engaged by the
Council and assigned respt risi-
bility for administration of this
Ordinance."

3.01 Article X of said Minne-
sota Plumbing Code is hereby
mended by adding the following
thereto:
"Sec. 128 - The building sew-
er or building drain slâ–ºall !tp so
located or shall be provided with
a branch line that will facilitate
a connection, at a later date, to
a municipal sewer system. This
building sewer or branch shall
be at a sufficiently low eleva-
tion to drain the lowest plumbing
fixture or floor drain in the build-
trig.

4.01 No person, firm or corpor-
ation shall engage in the business
of installing and constructing
plumbing or plumbing systems
within the municipality without
first obtaining a license to carry
on such occupation from the
council and procuring and post-
ing with the clerk a bond in the
aniount of $1000.00 in favor of the
municipality and the public, con-
ditiene.l upon the faithful Per-
formance of contracts and com-
plianec with this ordinance_
Such license shall be renewaole
annually on or before May 1st
each year and may be revoked or
refused by the council for cause.
Any installation, construction, al-
teration, or repair of a plumbing
system by a licensee in violation
of the provisions of said Minne-
sota Plumbing Code or refusal
on the part of a licensee to cor-
rect such defective work per-
formed by such licensee shall be
cause for revocation of or refusal
to renew a license.
4.02 Before any license issued
under the provisions of this sec-
tion may be revoked or its re-
newal refused, the licensee shall
be given a hearing to show cause
why such license should not be
revoked or refused. Nodee o1 the
time, place and purpose of such
hearing shall be in writing. The
unnuai license fee shall be $25.00.
Application for such license
shall be made annually on a
form furnished b,r the council.
section 3. Pas'saits.
5.01 No person, firm or corpor-
ation shall install, alter or ex-
tend any individual plumbing or
plumbing system In the munici-
pality without first obtaining a
permit tnerefor from the council
for the specific installation, al-
teration or extension. At the time
of applying for said pern-,it, the
applicant shall pay a fee there-
for of $10.00. Each plumbing fix-
ture in excess of ten (10) shall
be subject to an additional $1.00
fee. Such permits shall be valid
for a period of six (6) months
from date of issue.
5.02 Application for permits
shall be made in writing upon
printed blanks or forms furnished
by the council and shall be
signed by the applicant.

i:ubsequent to the adoption of
this ordirance and all alterations,
extensic::s and repairs to individ-
ual plumbing systems irrespec-
tive of the date of original in-
stallation shall he regulated in
accordance with all of the re-
quirements of this. ordinance.
Fxisting systems which do not
meet the requirements of this
ordinance may be repaired or
extended if the repair or exten-
sion is made in accordance with
the construction requirements of

7.01 The council shall assign
responsibility for administration
of this ordinance to a qualified
inspector.
7.02 The inspector shall make

are necessary to determine com-
pliance with this ordinance. No
part of the system shall be cov-
ered until it has been inspected
and accepted by he inspector. It
shall be the responsibility of the
applicant for the permit to notify
the inspector in accordance with
Article XIV, Sec. 157 of the
Minnesota Plumbing Code.
7.03 The renotiflcatinn fee un-
der Article XIV Sec. 157C shall -

8.01 The objectives of this ord-
inance are to provide adequate
and safe plumbing systems and
to prevent the contamination of
water supply. Any system of
special, unusual or new design
which will satisfy the stated ob-
jectives may be accepted as com-
plying with this ordinance, and
any permit granted for the con-
struction, installation, elteration,
or repair of any such special sy-
stem shall be subject to such con-
dit:;ri and guarantees as may be
stated in the permit.
8.02 The council may, in its dis-
cretion, grant variances from the
strict provisions of this ordinance
consistent with the provisions of
Section 8.01 above and upon rec-
ommendation of the Village

9.01 Any person, firm or cor-
poration violating any of the pro-
visions of this ordinance shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor, and
upon conviction thereof shall be
fined in an amount not to exceed
$100.00 or imprisonment for a
period not to exceed 90 days,
Each day that any violation is
continued shall constitute a sep-
arate offense.

10.01 Ordinance No. 59-14 of
the Village of Plymouth, adopted
May 27, 1959 is hereby repealed.

11.01 This ordinance shall take
effect upon its passage and pub-
lication.
