ORDINANCE NO. 64-6
An ordinance regulating boats
and boating on Mooney Lake
and declaring certain acts to be
a public nuisance.
The Village Council of the Vil-
lage of Plymouth Do Hereby Or-
dain as Follows:
Section I—DeSnitions. The fol-
lowing words and phrases when
used in this ordinance, have the
meanings as set out herein.
1.81—"Boat" is any watercraft
in or upon or docked or moored
at any place in Mooney Lake.
1.02—"Motor boat" is any boat
which is propelled by an internal
combustion engine.
1.09 --"Mooney Lake" is that
part of such body of water bear-
ing that name located within the
boundaries of the Village of
Plymouth.
1A4 --"Person" includes an in-
dividual, partnership, corporation
and any body of persons, who has
incorporated or not.
Section 2—Lindtations on Boats
and Boating. In the interests of
the public health, safety and gen-
eral welfare, the following regu-
lations and limitations are hereby
imposed upon all boats operated,
placed or maintained in or upon
Mooney Lace:
2.01 --No person shall operate,
place or maintain any motor boat
in or upon such lake which is
propelled by an internal combus-
tion engine having a size and
power in excess of five (5) horse-
power.
2.02—Every motor boat operat-
ing upon said lake shall be equip-
ped so as to direct its motor ex-
haust under water, or otherwise
completely and effectively to muf-
fle and silence the sound of the
explosions of such motor. No mo-
tor boat shall otherwise make any
unnecessary noise in its opera-
tion.
2.03—No person shall run or
operate a motor boat upon said
lake between the hours of 8:00
p.m. and 8 a.m.
2A4—No person in charge of or
occupying a boat shall dump or
throw garbage, paper, bottles,
cans, refuse or debris into said
lake.
2A5 --No person shall operate a
boat on said lake in such a man-
ner as to violate any of the pro-
visions of Minnesota Statutes,
Section 561.01 to 981.21, inclusive,
which statutes are hereby adopted
and incorporated herein and made
a part hereof as though fully set
forth at this point.
2.96—Any conduct in violation
of any of the above provisions is
hereby declared to be a public
nuisance.
Section 3—Penalty. Any viola-
tion of this ordinance is deemed
to be a misdemeanor and such
violation is punishable by a fine
not to exceed $100.00 or imprison-
ment not to exceed ninety (90)
days.
Section 4—Effective Date. This
ordinance shall take effect upon
its passage and publication.
Adopted by the Village Council
of the Village of Plymouth the
7th day of December, 1964.
