HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1988-674CITY OF PLYMOUTH , Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 3rd day of October , 1988. The following members were present: Mayor Schneider. Councilmembers Vasiliou , Ricker, Zitur and Sisk The following members were absent: None Councilmember Sisk introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 88-674 DESIGNATING CONSULTING ENGINEER AND AMENDING ENGINEER SERVICES AGREEMENT COUNTY ROAD 6 FROM COUNTY ROAD 101 TO FERNBROOK LANE CITY PROJECT NO. 829 WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has been considering the reconstruction of County Road 6 from County Road 101 to Fernbrook Lane; and WHEREAS, the project will be necessary before the County Road 6/I-494 Interchange is completed; and WHEREAS, in order to meet required time schedules for construction, a consulting engineer for the project needs to be retained; and WHEREAS, the project will involve joint cooperation between the City of Plymouth and Hennepin County Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of all parties to have the same consulting engineering firm for all improvements necessary; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the firs of Strgar-Roscoe-Fausch, Inc. is designated as the consulting engineer for the improvement of County Road 6 from County Road 101 to Fernbrook Lane, City Project No. 829 and that the scope of the project is as follows: Prepare all necessary design computations, plans and specifications and right- of-way drawings. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the work is to be performed under the existing engineering services agreement between the City of Plymouth and Strgar-Roscoe -Fausch, Inc. dated December 3, 1979, with the following modifications: 1. Payment for basic services as outlined in Section 4.1 of the agreement shall be modified as follows: a. Compensation for basic services shall be computed on the basis of "Curve A" of the ASCE Manual No. 45. b. The City will receive a credit of $5,000 for work previously performed under current studies. The consultant shall invoice the City for work performed on a monthly basis for the preceding month, with the distribution of the total fee defined as follows: 1) Preliminary Report and final design phase - 80% 2) Award of contract - 17% 3) Upon final completion - 3% FURTHER, that funding for the project will be provided from T.I.F. Districts No. 1-2, 1-2A, 1-3, 1-4, and 1-5. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zitur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Vasiliou, Ricker, Zitur and Sisk The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
