Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 3rd day of octeher
1988. The following members were present: _Mayor Schneider, cmindInlembers ,
Vasiliou, Ricker. Zitur and Sisk
The following members were absent: None
Cnnnritmemher Sisk introduced the following Resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 88-642
ORDERING PREPARATION OF PRELIMINARY REPORT
COUNTY ROAD 18 WEST FRONTAGE ROAD
HIGHWAY 55/SOUTH SHORE DRIVE INTERSECTION
CITY PROJECT NO. 833
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has approved a Preliminary Plat and a Concept Plan for
the S. J. Groves Development; and
WHEREAS, Ryan Construction Company has petitioned the City of Plymouth to construct
County Road 18 west Frontage Road widening and traffic signal intersection improvements
at Highway 55 and South Shore Drive along with the necessecy utilities; and
WHEREAS, Traffic studies have been prepared for said developments which identify the
need for the street improvements in order that traffic can adequately be accommodated;
and
WHEREAS, the necessary improvements are as follows:
a. County Road 18 west frontage road -- widening from 8th Avenue to 13th
Avenue.
h. County Road 18 west frontage road intersection with southbound on-ramp to
County Road 18 -- intersection geometrics and traffic control
improvements.
C. County Road 18 west frontage road intersection with 10th Avenue --
intersection geometrics and traffic control geometrics.
d. T.H. 55 and South Shore Drive -- intersection geometrics and traffic
signal improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA: That Strgar-Roscoe-Fausch, Inc. be designated as the Consulting Engineer
for the improvements and that they are instructed to prepare a Preliminary Report with
all convenient speed advising the Council in a preliminary way as to whether the
proposed improvements are feasible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed
or in conjunction with some other improvement and the estimated cost of the
improvements as recommended.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing. Resolution was duly seconded by
