CITi OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 3rd day of October, 19_8-8_ The following members were present: Mavor Schneider, Councilmembers Vasilio•y ?icker. Zitur and Sisk The following members were absent: None Councilmember Sisk introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION 88- 605 DENYING VARIANCE FOR JEROME P. BEGIN (88062) WHEREAS, Jerome P. Begin has requested approval of a variance for construction of a canopy to within 30 feet of the Vinewood Lane property line on the site of the Cottonwood Plaza Shopping Center where the Zoning Ordinance specifies 50 feet; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request and recommends denial; HOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it hereby does deny the request for Jerome P. Begin for Variance for construction of a canopy to within 30 feet of the Vinewood Lane property line at the .site of the Cottonwood Plaza Shopping Center where the Zoning Ordinance specifies 50 feet, based on the following findings: 1. No hardship, only inconvenience, to the owner would result if the strict letter of the regulations are carried out. 2. The conditions upon which the petition for variation are based are not unique to the parcel upon which the variance is sought, and are generally applicable to other property within the B-3 Zoning District. 3. The purpose of the variation is based exclusively on the desire to increase the income value of the parcel of land. 4. The alleged hardship is not caused by this Ordinance, but by the owner of this parcel resulting from earlier site planning decisions. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Vasiliou , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Schneider, aun i1m mh c Vasili0t, Ri k r _ Zirur and Sisk The following voted against or abstained none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
