The following members were present: Magor Schnei3er;Zouncilmembers asou, _ Ricker Zitur and Sisk We following members were absent: 93ne Councilmember Zitur introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 88-383 DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INITIATE PLANNING FOR A PLYMOUTH COMMUNITY CENTER WHEREAS, the City .Council's Special Assessment' Committee, in their report dated June 20, 1988, has recommended that planning commence on a new Plymouth Community Center; and WHEREAS, the Special. Assessment Committee has identified funding for such a community center in the estimated amount of $8,000,000; and 0 WHEREAS, the City Council has previously included the Plymouth Community Center within Its Five -Year Capital Improvement Program for 1989; and WHEREAS, the City Council endorses the recommendations of the Special Assessment Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,, MINNESOTA that the City Manager is hereby directed to report to the Council, as soon as Possible, with a draft.community center. development program and site recommendation, which report shall include proposed uses,- preliminary cost estimates, and construction phases for a Plymouth community center. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that following receipt and review of said report from the City Manager, the Council shall select consultants to undertake the development of the necessary plans in order that a community center can be under construction in late 1989 or 1990.
