HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1988-071CITY OF PLYNDM Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on t e 25th day of Januar , 1988. The following members were present: Mayor Schnei eTr;7Eo_unc I I members Vasiliou, Ricker, Zitur and Sisk The following members were absent: None Councilmember Zitur introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 88-71 AUTHORIZING THE PRIVATE SALE OF PARCELS 21-118-22-33-0232, 0233, 0234, AND 0236 TO ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNER WHEREAS, Hennepin County has provided the City with a list of non -conservation properties which have become tax forfeit as a result of nonpayment of property tax and/or special assessments; and WHEREAS, in accordance "ith the City Council's Tax Forfeit Land policy, each parcel has been reviewed; and WHEREAS, the City Council has previously authorized the public sale of parcels 21-118-22-33-0232, 0233, 0234 and 0236 by Resolution 87-773; and WHEREAS, the adjacent property owner has expressed an interest in acquiring the parcels to be used for open space or parking for the Shennandoah Townhouse Development; and WHEREAS, the City Council is desirious of returning tax forfeit parcels to private ownership wherever possible. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that it should, and hereby does: 1. Declare Parcel Nos. 21-118-22-33-0232, 0233, 0234 and 0236 to be unbuildable from a zoning and City code perspective. 2. Authorizes the private sale of said parcels to the adjacent property owner, In accordance with Hennepin County procedures. 3. Requires that the Homeowner Association execute covenants for each parcel, confirming that they are to be forever used.by the Homeowner Association for parking or open space purposes and not development. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Ricker , and upon vote being takentTceon; —1 -he following vote n favor thereof: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Vasiliou, 10 Ricker Zitur and Sisk 1he following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly .
