HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1987-708CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 19th day of October 1987. The following members were present: Mayor Schneider, Counclimembers Vasilicu, Zitur, Crain and Sisk The following members were absent: None Councilmember Zitur introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 87-709 AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF CITY OF PLYMOUTH GRANT APPLICATION TO HENNEPIN COUNTY FOR INCLUSION IN THE URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION FOR YEAR XIII. WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has executed a joint powers agreement with Hennepin County thereby agreeing to participate in a Grant Application under the Urban County designation provided for in the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; and, WHEREAS, a grant application has been prepared requesting funds to undertake a Community Development Program, including appropriate citizen participation, goal establishment and implementation plans and procedures; and, WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority held a public hearing on October 13, 1987 regarding the creation of a new Year XIII Community Development Block Grant Program for the City of Plymouth so the City has funds available in 1987 and 1988 to assist in the planning and development of the Downtown Senior Housing Site; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendations of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority and of the City Staff regarding the proposed creation of a new activity and program amounts for Year XIII; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does direct the administrative staff to submit to Hennepin County staff, the creation of a new Year XIII Community Development Block Grant Program activity, "Planning and Development of Downtown Senior Housing Site;" FURTHER, it is hereby resolved that $15,000.00 be reallocated from the program activity, "Rehabilitation of Private Property" (Program Activity No. 23081) to this new activity. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilm+ember Sisk , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: 5 Ayes The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Revolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
