Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 19th day of October . 1987.
The following members were present: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Vasiliou, Zitur,
Crain and Sisk
The fallowing members were absent: None
Councilmember Zitur introduced the following Resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. '1407
AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF CITY OF PLYMOUTH GRANT APPLICATION TO HENNEPIN COUNTY FOR
INCLUSION IN THE URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION
FOR YEAR XII.
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has executed a joint powers agreement with Hennepin
County thereby agreeing to participate in a Grant Application under the Urban County
designation provided for in the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; and,
WHEREAS, a grant application has been prepared requesting funds to undertake a
Community Development Program, including appropriate citizen participation, goal
establishment and implementation plans and procedures; and,
WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authc.ity held a public hearing on October 13,
1987 regarding the reallonation of the Year XII funds for the City of Plymouth and has
recommended that due to the strong demand for additional funding for both the Housing
Rehabilitation Grant Program and the Childcare Assistance Payment Program, that funding
now allocated to the Development of the Elderly Housing Site be reallocated; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendations of the Housing and
Redevelopment Authority and of the City Staff regarding the proposed activities and
program amounts for Year XII;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does direct the administrative staff to submit to
Hennepin County, the reallocation of Year XII Community Development Block Grant funds
currently allocated to the Development of the Elderly Housing Site (Activity No. 22072)
In the amount of $22,635.25 to other program activities as follows:
Housing Rehabilitation Grant Program (Activity No. 22073) $16,635.25
Childcare Assistance Payment Program (Activity No. 22071) 6,000.00
TOTAL $22,6345.25
The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Sisk , and upon vote be; -,4g taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: 5 Ayes
The following
voted against or abstained: none Whereupon the
Resolution was declared duly passed And adopted.
