HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1987-539CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special Council of the City of Plyrouth, Minnesota was held on the ApV t _i 1987. The fol lowing rr.-crbers were present: Councilmembers Vasiliou, Ziturt Crain and Sisk The following members were absent: None meeting of the City 24th day of Mayor Schneider, Councilmember Crain_____ introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 87- 539 ADOPTING ASSESSMENT 1987 REMOVAL AND DESTRUCTION OF DISEASED TREES WHEREAS, pursuant to proper notice duly given as required by law, the Council has met and heard and passed upon all objections to the proposed assessments for 1987 removal and destruction of diseased trees as provided for by the City Ordinances and has amended such proposed assessment as it deems just; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: I. Such proposed assessment, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part thereof, is hereby accepted and shall constitute the special assessment against the land named. therein and each tract of land herein included is hereby bound to be identified by the amount of the assessment levied against it. 2. Such assessments shall be payable over a period of one year. 3. Assessments may be paid in full to the City of Plymouth Finance Director by September 24, 1987 without additional charge. After September 24, 1987 daily interest charge based on an annual rate of 8.00% starting on August 24, 1987 will be due in addition to the levied assessment. The last date a payment can be accepted by the City of Plymouth is November 15, 1987. After that date interest shall be added from the date of this resolution until December 31, 1988 and payment can only be made to Hennepin County with the 1988 property taxes. 4. The clerk shall forthwith transmit a certified duplicate of this assessment to the County Finance Director to be extended on the proper tax lists of the County and such assessments shall be collected and paid over the same manner as other municipal taxes. 5. The total cost of the 1987 removal and destruction of diseased trees assessed by this resolution are $2,731.25. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Sisk , and upon vote being tgkenthereon, the following voted in favor thereof: _Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Vasiliou, T; «..,. Crain and Sisk The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
