Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the —3rd— day of Au ust , 1987. The

RESOLUTION NO. 87-504
APPROVING LIGHTING PLAN AND VARIANCES RELATED TO SITE PLAN AND SIGNAGE FOR RICHARD
BROKKE FOR POWELL LINCOLN MERCURY (87049)
WHEREAS, Richard Brokke, Powell Lincoln Mercury, received approval of a Site Plan,
Conditional Use Permit, and certain Variances for a car dealership to be located south-
east of County Road 9 and Xenium Lane under City Council Resolution No. 87-449; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council directed the submittal of a revised Lighting Plan which has
been submitted and reviewed; and,
WHEREAS, the petitioner also sought variances related to the Site Plan and to the Sign-
age for the site; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission reviewed the requested variances on June 10, 1987 and
the City Council reviewed the variances on July 6, 1987;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MIN-
NESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the following for Richard Brokke, Powell
Lincoln Mercury, which Is to be located southeast of County Road 9 and Xentum Lane:
1. The Lighting Plan for the site Is the plan described in correspondence staff dated
July 29, 1987 and represented on a lumennaire plan dated July 29, 1987.
2. A temporary Site Plan Variance is approved to allow 0 ft. versus the Ordinance
required 20 ft. in the northwest corner of the site, i.e., the westerly area of
the north display area, to allow display vehicles to be parked on an unpaved sur-
face using precast "paver block" strips upon which the vehicles can be moved and
parked and through which grass can grow and give the appearance of greenspaee.
The surface of the east portion of the north display area shall be paved and no
variances allowed on the east side.
3. The Variance is approved for up to 5 ft. to allow a height of up to 41 ft. versus
36 ft.; a variance is allowed for the pylon area which shall not exceed 155 sq.
ft.; only one free-standing pylon sign is approved for the site.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Vasiliou , and upon vote being taken thereon, the follow ng
