The following members were present: _ The following members were absent: nnne rnllnrilmPmhPr Crain_ introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 87- 418 ORDERING A PUBLIC HEARING ON A PROPOSED CITY ORDINANCE RELATING TO PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE ESTABLISHING A SOURCE SEPARATION PROGRAM FOR RECYCLABLE MATERIALS AND AMENDING CHAPTER SIX OF THE PLYMOUTH CITY CODE BY ADDING A NEW SECTION TO THE CODE WHEREAS, Section 2, General Provisions, Subsection 1 of Hennepin Ordinance 13 states "it shall be the responsibility of each municipality to adopt an ordinance or ordinances relating to the separation of recyelables within the boundaries of the municipality, the purpose of said ordinance being to reduce the amount of solid waste generated within a municipality by at least 16%, which is an amount established by the Council and adopted by the Hennepin County Board"; and WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council of the City of Plymouth to comply with the requirements of said Hennepin County Ordinance 13; and iWHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council of the City of Plymouth to attain the recycling goals cgtablished by Hennepin County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That it should and hereby does establish the date of July 20, 1987, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Plymouth City Center, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard as the time and place for a public hearing pertaining to said ordinance and directs the administrative staff to publish notice of said public hearing in the official City newspaper, notify homeowner associations and publish in "Plymouth on Parade". The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zitur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Crain, Sisk, Zitur and Vasiliou The following voted against or abstained: none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
