The following members were present: The following members were absent: non ttt ,t,k,�r *,tom Councilmember Crain introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 87- 417 ORDERING A PUBLIC HEARING ON A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO ORGANIZE COLLECTION OF REFUSE WITHIN THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH AND INVITING THE PARTICIPATION OF INTERESTED PERSONS IN PLANNING AND ESTABLISHING THE ORGANIZED COLLECTION SYSTEM WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council's Solid Waste Management Development Guide and Policy Plan points out the advantages of an Organized Collection System; and WHEREAS, increased emphasis by State and County Government is dictating a more active role in the Waste Management area by local governments; and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth previously recognized the increased emphasis and the advantages of an Organized Collection System by passing Resolution No. 87-134 indicating it's intent to adopt an Organized Collection System in the City of Plymouth; and . WHEREAS, the State Legislature recently passed an amendment to the Waste Management Act requiring a public hearing prior to passing a resolution of intent to adopt an Organized Collection System. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That it should and hereby does establish the date of July 20, 1987, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Plymouth City Center, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard as the time and place for the public hearing on said resolution of intent to implement Organized Refuse Collection within the City of Plymouth and directs the administrative staff to publish notice of said public hearing as provided by law. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zitur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Crain, 10 Sisk. Zitur and Vasiliou The following voted against or abstained: none Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
