HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1987-237CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Citv Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 6th day of April 1987. The following members were present: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Crain and Sisk The following members were absent: Councilmembers Vasiliou and Litur Councilmember Sisk introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 87- 237 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID WATER TREATMENT PLANT FILTER EQUIPMENT AND FILTER ME -11A PROJECT NO. 431 WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Water Treatment Plant Filter Equipment and Filter Media; and WHEREAS, bids were received, opened and tablulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: Company Bid No. 1 Bid No. 2 General Filter Company $219,656.00 $97,260.00 Tonka Equipment Company 249,340.00 40,900.00 Graver Water Division of the Graver Company 244,258.00 139,963.00 AND, WHEREAS, it appears that General Filter Company is the lowest responsible . bidder for Bid No. 1; AND, WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the consulting engineer that Bid No. 2 be rejected since it cannot be determined if the apparent low bidder meets the specifications; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH: 1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the attached contract with General Filter Company (Bid No. 1) in the name of r•he Citv of Plvmouth for the Water Treatment Plant Filter Equipment in the amount of $219,656.00 2. The Citv Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. 3. That all bids for Bid No. 2 be rejected and the Filter Media be rebid with revised specifications as part of the Water Treatment Plant Project. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Crain and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Crain and Sisk The following voted against or abstained: non.? Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
