Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 16th day of March . 1987.
The following members were present: Mayor Schneider, Councilmember.s Crain, Vasiliou,—
Zitur and Sisk
The following members were absent: None
Councilmember Zitur introduced the following Resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 87-200
AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF CITY OF PLYMOUTH GRANT APPLICATION TO HENNEPIN COUNTY FOR
INCLUSION IN THE URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION
FOR YEAR XIII.
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has executed a joint powers agreement with Hennepin
County thereby agr--eing to participate in a Grant Application under the Urban County
designation provided for in the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; and,
WHEREAS, a grant application has been prepared requesting funds to undertake a
Community Development Program, including appropriate citizen participation, goal
establishment and implementation plans and procedures; and,
WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority held a public hearing on March 12,
1987 regarding the expenditure of the Year XIII funds for the City of Plymouth and has
recommended several projects for expenditure of said funds; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendations of the Housing and
Redevelopment Authority and of the City Staff regarding the proposed activities and
program amounts for Year XIII;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does direct the administrative staff to submit the
application for the City of Plymouth's Year XIII participation in the Housing and
Community Development Plans and Programs for expenditure on the following projects in
the respective proposed dollar amounts:
Housing Rehabilitation Grant Program $80,000.00
Childcare Assistance Payment Program 20,000.00
Mission Farms Nursing Homes 90000.00
Union City Mission Rehabilitation Planning 20,028.00
Total $129,028.00
FURTHER, be it resolved that the combined grant funds for the Union City Mission for
long range planning be for the entire Union City Mission property and uses with special
consideration to the preservation and alternative uses of the "old chapel" building.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councihxember, Craim , and upon vote being taken thereon, the
