HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1987-125CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 9th day of February , 1987 The followinq members were present: Mayor hneider, ouncilmembers CraTn—,Sisk, Vaslltou, and Zttur The following members were absent: none Councllmember Sisk introduced the followinq Resolution and moved Its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 87-125 RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, has determined to Issue bonds for the purpose of providing money for construction of Fire Station III, purchase of fire apparatus, and remodeling of Fire Station I and: WHEREAS, the amount proposed to be borrowed shall not exceed $1,700,000: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that: 1) The proposal to Issue such bonds shall be subettted to the voters of the City at a special election to be held at the usual polling places for each precinct, that the polls shall open at 7:00 a.m. and shall close at 8:00 p.m. 2) The City Clerk shall give two week's published notice (and ten days posted notice) prior to the election. 3) The clerk shall cause printed ballots to be prepared in substantially the following form: OFFICIAL BALLOT SPECIAL ELECTION CITY OF PLYMOUTH APRIL 28, 1987 Instructions to Voters: Voters desiring to vote In favor of the following question shall put an X in the square before the word "Yes". Voters desirinq to vote against the question shall put an X In the square before the word "No". YES Shall the City of Plymouth issue and sell its general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $1,700,000 for the purpose of providing monies to finance capital expenditures consistlnq of the 0 NO construction of new Fire Station III, the remodeling of Fire Station I, and the acquisition of related fire fighttnq apparatus? Resolution No. 87-125 Page Two (Back of Ballot) OFFICIAL BALLOT SPECIAL ELECTION CITY OF PLYMOUTH City Clerk Judges BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council shall meet at the City Center on the 29th day of April, 1987, at 4:45 p.m. to canvass the returns and declare the results of the election.
