HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1987-068CITY OF PLVNDUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a re lar meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the day of February , 1987. The following members were present: Mayor Schnelder,Councilmembers Crain, Sisk, Vasillou, and Zitur The following mem ers were absent: none Mayor Schneider introduced the following Resolution and moved Its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 87-68 DENIAL OF LAND USE GUIDE PLAN AMENDMENT AND PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT PLAN FOR ZAREMBA MIDWEST, INC. (86141) WHEREAS, Zaremba Midwest, Inc. has requested approval of reclassification of Land Use Guiding for an approximate 29 acres located west of County Road 18, north of State Highway 55, east of South Shore Drive, and south of 10th Avenue North, a/k/a Ford Golf - Driving Range from CL (limited business) designation to CN (neighborhood shopping center) designation; and, WHEREAS, Zaremba Midwest, Inc. has requested approval of a Planned Unit Development Concept Plan for 41 acres; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has considered the request following a duly scheduled public hearing; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MIN- NESOTA, that it should and hereby does deny the reclassification of land use guiding for Zaremba Midwest, Inc., for the approximate 29 acres located west of County Road 18, north of State Highway 55, east of South Shore Drive, and south of 10th Avenue North, a/k/a Ford Golf Driving Range from CL (limited business) designation to CN (neighbor- hood shopping center) designation and the PUD Concept Plan for 41 acres, based on the following findings: 1. Compliance with the Locational Criteria for the CN (neighborhood shopping center) Land Use Designation has not been demonstrated. 2. Development under the proposed Land Use classification would have a significant impact on the public road system. 3. There is no clear public need or benefit provided by approving the request. 4. There are sites with the appropriate Guide Plan designation and Zontnlq classifi- cation which would allow this development type. 5. The petitioner not demonstrated that it is unfeasible to develop this land with Its current Guide Plan designation and Zoning.
